Write and publish articles

Blog

Tips & tricks for a blog people actually read

Best format

  • Lead with the answer in the first 2–3 sentences.
  • Break it up with question-style subheadings (## in the editor).
  • Short paragraphs, bullets for lists, one clear call-to-action at the end.
  • Add a real cover photo with a short description.

Best frequency

  • Aim for 2+ posts a month — consistency beats bursts.
  • One post every other week for six months beats 15 in January then silence.
  • Every quarter, refresh your best older posts.

Best style

  • Write like coffee with a client — use “you,” skip jargon.
  • Facts tell, stories sell: open with a real moment.
  • Be specific — real neighborhoods, numbers, dates.
  • Read it out loud before publishing.

Local & SEO

  • Name the city and neighborhood (Summerlin, Henderson, Spring Valley).
  • Neighborhood guides and buyer/seller how-tos convert best.
  • ~1,000–1,500 words; put the keyword in the title.

Bilingual edge

  • Flip on “Also create a Spanish version” — huge in the valley.
  • Review the Spanish draft in your own voice before publishing.
  • Keep the full value in both languages.

Sound human, not AI

  • Take a clear stand and share your real opinion.
  • Avoid “In today’s fast-paced world” and “In conclusion.”
  • Vary sentence length; don’t bold every bullet.

Search engine optimization

Get Found on Google

This is the biggest way new clients will discover you. Work through it top to bottom — most steps are one-time setup, then a light weekly rhythm keeps you climbing. No tech background needed; each step says exactly what to do.

1

Claim your Google Business Profile

Biggest local win

A fully set-up profile puts you on Google Maps and in the local results when someone searches “realtor near me.” Optimized agents pull 15–25 calls a month from it — with no ad spend.

Create or claim your profile

Go to business.google.com and sign in. If your brokerage already made one, claim ownership instead of making a duplicate.

Open business.google.com →

Name it correctly

Use your real name — Monica Margaretis, Realtor. Don’t stuff keywords; Google penalizes that.

Category & service areas

Primary category Real Estate Agent. Choose “I serve customers at their location” and list Las Vegas, Henderson, Summerlin, Spring Valley, North Las Vegas — real cities, not “Nevada.” Hide your street address if clients don’t visit an office.

Verify your profile

Google confirms you’re real by video, phone, or postcard. Follow the prompt — nothing ranks until you’re verified.

Description, website & photos

Add a 750-character description, your phone, and monopolymonica.com. Upload 10–20 real photos (headshot, listings, neighborhoods) — and mention “Se habla español.”

2

Put your website on Google

So the site shows up

The profile gets you on Maps; this gets monopolymonica.com and your blog into search results. One-time setup, then Google keeps re-checking on its own.

Set up Google Search Console

Go to search.google.com/search-console and add monopolymonica.com as a Domain property.

Open Search Console →

Verify & submit your sitemap

Google gives you a TXT record to add in Netlify (a quick task for your site builder). Then, under Sitemaps, submit sitemap.xml.

Request indexing & check it

Paste a page into the top bar and click Request indexing. To see what’s live, Google site:monopolymonica.com. Indexing can take hours to a couple of weeks — that’s normal.

3

Optimize & keep climbing

Habits that build ranking

Get reviews steadily

After every closing, send your Google review link with a warm note. Aim for 2–4 a month; reply to each within a day.

Post weekly & keep details identical

2–3 Google posts a week (listings, just-solds, market notes). Keep your name, phone, and website identical on Google, your site, Zillow, and Realtor.com.

Publish hyperlocal blog posts

Neighborhood guides that name real Vegas areas are what Google rewards — and portals can’t copy. The Blog tab’s Tips & Tricks covers the writing.

Weekly

  • 2–3 Google posts
  • Reply to reviews & questions
  • Ask recent closings for a review

Monthly

  • Add 8–12 fresh photos
  • Publish 2+ blog posts
  • Check Search Console & insights

Quarterly

  • Refresh top older posts
  • Update Q&A, remove stale photos
  • Confirm details match everywhere
